The Gold Humanism Honor Society recognizes students, residents and faculty who are exemplars of compassionate patient care and who serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine. Members are peer nominated and are the ones that others say they want taking care of their own family. Since its inception in 2002, Gold Humanism Honor Society has grown in influence to become a vital part of medical school and residency training program cultures throughout the US.

Akarsh Sharma is so kind, caring, empathetic, and thoughtful to patients, friends, and everyone in his life. It is evident to his classmates that he truly cares for his patients as people, and gets to know them on a deeper level. He is completely devoted to his patients and puts his all into making patients feel cared for and listened to. He possesses an enormous passion for both patient care and community service and outreach. Akarsh simply makes the world a better place through his day to day actions.
